The Ayurveda Institute of America organizes trips to India once each year. To delve deep into hands on Panchakarma training and in-depth studies in Ayurveda, a trip to India is a necessity. The trip lasts for one month (late November to late December). For the first 15 days, students gain mastery over the world famous Kerala special therapies which are beneficial for chronic pain and fatigue, arthritis, digestive problems, neurological conditions, emotional problems and other health conditions. The training is provided by seasoned Ayurvedic Doctors and experienced therapists. The training takes place at exotic locales on the coast of the Arabian Sea in Kerala or Goa on the West Coast of India. Students live in sophisticated huts on the coast and get training in special treatment rooms with true natural music of ocean waves. Besides training, students live the Ayurvedic life style following Swastha vritta experiencing the benefits of daily routines. The students learn about Indian culture first hand. Enjoying Henna drawings, taking rickshaw rides to neighboring villages and shopping in the local and artisan markets. During this immersion period into Ayurveda, the students get exposed to the land where Ayurveda was born. A visit to Kanyakumari – the southern tip of India, a visit to Vivekananda Memorial and ancient temples, the breathtaking Sunset in the background of meeting point of three oceans – Indian ocean, Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal. It is a life time’s experience. In depth study is arranged in Pune- the City of education. In depth classes are taught by senior Ayurvedic professors on various topics. Trips to Ayurvedic pharmacies, botanical gardens, The Iyengar Institute of Yoga and other places relevant to the Origin and History of Ayurveda. Opportunity Knocks, Don’t Miss Out.
