AIA offers a dynamic and innovative educational experience, leading to a Diploma in Ayurvedic Sciences. The program offers a unique blend of traditional Ayurvedic medicine with the needs of American students in mind. Classes are conveniently scheduled for one weekend per month over an 18 month period. Our schedule allows students to maintain their current jobs while completing their coursework. Students receive a total of 500 hours of training and education.
The program consists of Ayurvedic concepts, preparing and administering herbal products, special projects based on a student's personal and professional interests, and culminates with a supervised, three month internship.
Classes include Ayurvedic philosophy, anatomy, physiology, herbology, psychology, preventive medicine, pathology, astrology, subtle therapies, diagnosis methods, and management of imbalances and disease processes.
The internship is a key part of AIA's program. Students integrate their studies with real world experience. Students help treat clinic cases and learn how to perform Ayurvedic health evaluations under the supervision of Ayurvedic doctors. The internship provides the experience and support necessary to practice Ayruveda. Students have found the internship to be an invaluable piece of their educational experience.
We are proud of our graduates, who further our mission to provide progressive, holistic health care for future generations.
