About AIA

Our Mission: " The Ayurveda Institute of America is dedicated to providing students with a high quality and authentic Ayurvedic education and training. We seek to produce successful and competent Ayurvedic practitioners while maintaining the integrity and authenticity of Ayurveda. "

The Ayurveda Institute of America was founded in 1996 in Dallas TX with one branch in Houston, TX. In the first class two chiropractors, three yoga teachers, five massage therapists and couple of Ayurveda enthusiasts participated. Initially, the program offered 350 credit hours. With each passing year, the popularity increased and AIA's enrollments increased.

AIA moved its main campus to Foster City CA in 2000. With a California state approval, AIA started the training program in Foster City. To fulfill the requirements of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, the AIA Diploma program was upgraded to 500 credit hours instead of 350. Two years ago, AIA started the Diploma Program at branches in Los Angeles and in Hawaii.

Programs in all locations are gaining popularity and AIA is fulfilling its mission of spreading Ayurveda to the root level by graduating qualified students to start Ayurvedic practices.
